Sioux Falls Pride is proud to offer the annual Standing Proud Scholarship supporting post-secondary education for LGBTQA+ and Two-Spirit Students.
In honor of our community member, Terri Bruce, who died in 2018, we’ve raised money to support inclusive high school seniors (LGBTQIA2S+ kids and allies!) in South Dakota as they go on to college or trade school through the establishment of the Terri Bruce Memorial Scholarship Fund and essay contest.

The Carolyn Kelly Memorial Education Fund was formed as a bequest of Carolyn Kelly to provide financial assistance to all individuals trying to further their education.
The Aritzia Scholarship, Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship, Little Bird Scholarship for LGBTQI Immigrants
Aqua scholarships are available to all LGBTQ women, transgender, intersex, and non-binary students who are pursuing a degree – associates, bachelors, masters, and doctorates.
ATRH provides one of two nationwide trans scholarships. The top award will be up to $1,000.
The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund aids people active in movements for social and economic justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to students who are able to do academic work at the college or university level or are enrolled in a trade or technical program and who are active in the progressive movement.
The Gamma Mu Scholarships Program provides support to gay men who want to further their education at a college, university, or vocational or professional training program.
Currently the LEAGUE Foundation has 4 awards for consideration and each student application is automatically reviewed for each. The program is open to self-identified Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, graduating high school seniors meeting the prescribed criteria.
Dedicated to continuing the legacy of AIDS educator and activist Pedro Zamora, the Pedro Zamora Young Leaders Scholarship supports the academic pursuits of young activists working in their communities who carry Pedro’s torch forward in pursuit of a bold vision that never again will a community be harmed because of fear, silence, discrimination, or stigma. The scholarship is open to current or incoming undergraduate students (ages 27 and younger) enrolled in a U.S. community college or four-year university.

The Transgender First National Scholarship can be applied to whichever higher education program you choose or are currently enrolled in at an accredited US-based university or college. We want help you overcome the hardships and get the education you need, regardless of whether that’s an undergraduate associates or bachelors degree, masters, doctorate or certificate program
Established in 2016, the Ramblers Scholarship supports student athletes pursuing an undergraduate education who self-identify publicly as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex (LGBTQI), or as demonstrated and committed straight allies. Awardees will receive a one-time scholarship, paid directly to their school to cover tuition fees. Up to two scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded publicly each summer.
The Community College Scholarship empowers LGBTQ community college students to fulfill their ambitions in community college. Whether you are eager to complete community college and pursue your passions out of the classroom, or if you are earning credits in order to transfer to a four-year college or university, Point can provide financial aid and coaching to help you realize success in higher education.
The Point Flagship Scholarship empowers LGBTQ students to access and succeed in their education at accredited four-year institutions in the United States. Flagship scholarship recipients receive financial support, access to multiple leadership development programs, mentorship or coaching, and the support of a community of scholars and alumni.
Working with the families and loved ones of those killed, onePULSE Foundation established the 49 Legacy Scholarships in 2019 based on the respective victims’ interests, careers or aspirations. As an extension of their impact on our world, the scholarships inspire and empower students who share similar dreams, ambitions and goals.
We offer a $5,000 LGBTQIA+ Scholarship to support students who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning, who are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession.

Haunters Against Hate is giving a scholarship award of $2,000 to an LGBTQIA+ student for their higher education studies in graphic arts.
Applicants must be planning to pursue a career in journalism and be able to demonstrate their passion and commitment to sports journalism as a profession. Selection will be based on journalistic and scholastic ability and their capability to creatively demonstrate their pursuit to cover sports in the journalism industry. Applicants also must demonstrate a dedication and understanding of the importance of fair and accurate news coverage. For undergraduates, a declared major in journalism and/or communications is desirable but not required. Non-journalism majors may demonstrate their commitment to a journalism career through work samples, internships and work on a school news publication, online news service or broadcast affiliate. Graduate students must be enrolled in a journalism program.
The Association of LGBTQ Journalists’ 15th year, the Leroy F. Aarons Scholarship Award was established to honor Aarons’ memory and to continue the work he began when he founded NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists in 1990. The scholarship award for the 2022-2023 academic year will provide up to $5,000 in tuition funding to an LGBTQ student who plans a career in journalism and is committed to furthering NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists’ mission of fair and accurate coverage of the LGBTQ community.
The Kay Longcope Scholarship Award was established in 2008 through a gift from Longcope’s estate and with the guidance of Longcope’s partner Barbara Wohlgemuth. NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists is pleased to be home to this unique scholarship opportunity which furthers the vision of founder Leroy F. Aarons and moves forward his belief in the critical role diversity plays in the education of the next generation of newsroom leaders. The scholarship award for 2022-2023 academic year will provide up to $3,000 tuition assistance to an LGBTQ student of color who plans a career in journalism and is committed to furthering NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists’ mission of fair and accurate coverage of the LGBTQ community.
NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists is proud to continue a partnership with the Facebook Journalism Project. The Facebook Journalism Project is committed to supporting quality journalism that strengthens and connects communities. They have partnered with some of the leading journalism organizations in the country, including NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists, to establish The Facebook Journalism Project Scholarship program for students who aspire to pursue a career in journalism and media.
For the 2022-2023 school year, the Facebook Journalism Project Scholarship will be offered to journalism organizations serving underrepresented communities that share Facebook’s commitment: NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists, National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Asian American Journalists Association and Native American Journalists Association. NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists is excited to expand our support for the next generation of journalists by participating in the Facebook Journalism Project Scholarship program.
To honor the legacy of Mary Bowman and support other accomplished young artivists like her, the National AIDS Memorial has partnered with ViiV Healthcare to create the Mary Bowman Arts in Activism Award. This $5,000 award is intended to support young artivists (27 years of age or younger) who exemplify Mary’s passion for the arts as the vehicle for their own HIV/AIDS community activism and expression. This Award supports arts and culture programs that engage and inspire individuals and communities in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and recognizes the power of culture to break down stigma and isolation. Mary Bowman was an icon of hope and resilience, and performed at the 2018 ViiV Healthcare Youth and Community Summit where she inspired leaders across the movement, one of many examples of Mary used her voice and art to make a difference.
The Terri Higa Memorial Scholarship provides financial aid to an Asian Pacific Islander lesbian, bisexual, or queer woman, or a non-binary or transgender individual preparing for a career in a technical or trade program.
GALAS’ academic scholarships have served as a critical resource for the LGBTQ+ Armenian community. This year, in addition to offering our Annual Scholarship for undergraduate or graduate college level students of Armenian descent who have demonstrated LGBTQ+ activism, we have launched the Nyrie Sevan Gharibian Scholarship for Arts and Education students. Named in memory of late artist, activist, and beloved GALAS community member, Nyrie S. Gharibian, this academic scholarship is created to specifically support undergraduate or graduate level Arts and Education students. GALAS recognizes and honors Nyrie’s legacy as an educator, artist and activist who continues to inspire
LGBTQ+ Armenians. The scholarships are available for college level undergraduate and graduate students.
Prism Foundation provides scholarships to empower outstanding students who are making a positive impact on the Asian & Pacific Islander and LGBTQ+ communities. Our scholarships range from $1000–$5000, and our portfolio of recipients have included both undergraduates and graduates across a spectrum of ages, gender identities, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic background, and more. We have funded artists, activists, researchers, lawyers, therapists, and hope to continue highlighting and empowering our student community.
The Audre Lorde Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to Out Black lesbians 50 years and older making significant contributions to their communities. ZAMI NOBLA wants to support and encourage their continuing education by providing scholarships to those students enrolled in accredited technical, under-graduate and graduate programs anywhere in the U.S. Each award is $1000 or more.
n honor of Black History Month, the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association and Foundation is excited to announce the establishment of a need-based grant available to graduating transgender and/or nonbinary law graduates of color. The 2022 Trans/Nonbinary Law Graduates of Color Grant Fund will award three unrestricted $1,000 grants, to help offset the costs associated with the period of time between graduation and taking the Bar Exam/employment. Accepted grantees will also receive a 1-year free membership with the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association.
The BIPOC Scholarship from Point Foundation provides financial, coaching and community support to Members of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
This award, which honors the memory of Rivera, a transgender activist, will be given for the best book or article to appear in transgender studies this past year.
Annual fund awarding up to $1,000 per award to selected graduate students to advance research on the psychology of bisexuality.
The Kenneth W. Payne Student Prize is presented each year by the Association for Queer Anthropology (AQA) to a graduate or undergraduate student in acknowledgement of outstanding anthropological work on 1) a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender topic, or 2) a critical interrogation of sexualities and genders more broadly defined.
The Prize includes a cash award in the amount of $500. Submissions are encouraged from graduate or undergraduate students in any of the four fields of anthropology.
The National LGBTQ+ Bar Association and Foundation offers three scholarships of $2,500 each, annually. Students must be accepted or enrolled at least half-time in an ABA-accredited law school to be eligible, and must complete an application.
The Michael Greenberg Student Writing Competition was established in memory of Michael Greenberg, a former National LGBTQ+ Bar Association board member and Philadelphia attorney who died in 1996 from complications of AIDS. First-place winners will also receive a $500 cash prize, free Lavender Law® registration, travel assistance to Los Angeles, and a free hotel stay at our conference venue.
The Judge Paul G. Feinman Scholarship will be awarded annually to a law student who has demonstrated a commitment to the LGBTQ+ community and will be working with (as an intern, extern, clerk, etc.) a judge some time prior to the student’s final year of law school.
Wayne F. Placek Grants to support empirical research from all fields of the behavioral and social sciences on any topic related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender issues.
